Cultural Competency, Psychological First Aid (PSA), and Skills for Psychological Recovery (SPR)

HOSTED BY THE STATE OF HAWAIʻI, CRIME VICTIM COMPENSATION COMMISSION

Participants will learn more about Psychological First Aid (PFA) and Skills for Psychological Recovery (SPR), in the aftermath of a mass violence incident (MVI), as best practice approaches for disaster behavior health response and recovery. Participants will learn to approach different languages, values, attitudes, and beliefs, that differ across cultures in the aftermath of an MVI. Participants will learn through practical applications, discussions, and tabletop exercises.
