The Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) Region 9 (AZ, CA, HI, NV, AS, CNMI, and GU), invites you to join a four-hour Unmanned Aircraft Systems Program Development (UASPD) course hosted by New Mexico Tech via zoom on Wednesday, February 28th, from 10AM to 2PM, HST.

The UASPD course aids first responders and emergency agencies in the successful development, implementation, and sustainment of a department or agency’s small Unmanned Aircraft System (sUAS) program.

This course will provide first responders with an understanding of FAA regulations governing 14 CFR part 107 operations along with statutory requirements for public aircraft operations. Participants are also presented with a review of Government agency sUAS program best practices.

Recommended Audience: Emergency Management, Emergency Medical Services, Fire Service, and Law Enforcement.

Learning Objectives

  • Understand FAA regulations for public aircraft operations.
  • Understand which operational options are most appropriate for their agency.
  • Identify best practices and SOP procedures.
  • Understand requirements for requesting waivers and airspace authorizations.
  • Identify aircraft and equipment options available.

Please note: the training and registration is being coordinated by CISA. The State of Hawai‘i Office of Homeland Security cannot issue or override any credentials or requirements you may need to join the training (such as your FEMA SID). Be sure to read the registration information thoroughly.
